What We Do

Below are the projects we have worked on and have completed successfully.

• Research project on tobacco vendor density in collaboration with the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, Johns Hopkins University, USA (2020-21)
• An action research project on Ante-natal and Neonatal Care among tribal people in India with support from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (LSHTM), London, UK. (2020-21) (Under IMPRINT)
• Conducted In-depth Interviews on Tobacco Control as a partner of the Institute of Public Health, Bengaluru. (2021)
• The International Union Against Tuberculosis and Lung Disease supported MANT in conducting 4 studies during 2020-22:

a) Study on Bidi Brands in West Bengal

b) Enumeration Survey of Tobacco Vendors in 10 Municipalities and 2 Municipal Corporations

c) Study on Compliance of Film Rules in Bengali Cinemas, TV Serials and Web-series

d) COTPA, 2003 Compliance Studies in 5 districts of West Bengal.

• MANT has worked as a State partner of The International Union Against Tuberculosis and Lung Disease to conduct Two Studies

a) JHU Compliance Study on Bidi/SLT Monitoring and

b) JHU Compliance Study on Film Rules in 2019-20

• Conducted Air-Quality Monitoring in Designated Smoking Areas and Rooms in Kolkata as a partner of The International Union Against Tuberculosis and Lung Disease in 2018-19.
• Conducted Study on Tribal Food Habits in West Bengal and Jharkhand. Supported by Vigyan Prasar, Department of Science and Technology, Government of India in 2027-2018.
• Conducted the Compliance Study on COTPA in 5 Districts of West Bengal with technical support from the International Union Against Tuberculosis and Lung Disease (the Union) in 2017.
• Conducted a study to know the Impact of Gutkha Ban in the states of West Bengal and Kerala in collaboration with Regional Cancer Centre- Trivandrum (2016-17)
• Tobacco Litters Study in 9 Cities in India, Supported by Johns Hopkins University, USA (2022)
• Post Implementation Assessment of Compliance with Tobacco Product Display and Point of Sale Tobacco Control Policies in Siliguri, India
• Study on youth participation and ethnographic research with support from the Swedish Institute in collaboration with the University of Gothenburg, Sweden. (2022-23).
• Pilot Study on Tobacco Litters in the City of Kolkata, Supported by Johns Hopkins University, USA (2022)
• Conducting a mapping of Tobacco Vendors in the city of Kolkata with support from Healis Sekhsaria Institute for Public Health, Mumbai (2021-22)
• Social Return on Investment Analysis of HDFC CSR in Odisha and Uttarakhand
