Prof. Vinod Pavarala
Vinod Pavarala, a distinguished communication professor and UNESCO Chair on Community Media at the University of Hyderabad, is a tireless advocate for democratizing airwaves in India. He has actively shaped national policies enabling community radio and co-founded the Community Radio Forum of India. Vinod’s pioneering book, co-authored with Kanchan K. Malik, “Other Voices: the struggle for community radio in India” (Sage, 2007), illuminates grassroots efforts to create alternative media spaces. With leadership roles at the University of Hyderabad and participation in multiple academic and national committees, he enriches CPHR-MANT’s Governing Council with extensive expertise in communication and social change.
